Socratic Humour
Philosophy
Poetry
Socrates, with his vision blurred,
and a hand on his bloddied ear,
turned around in jest and jerred
things we least expect to hear:
“What a pity, as I had feared,
that I am none the wiser;
for I had left the house ungeared,
defenceless to this encounter!”
The road to suffering can be veered
by the one not prone to anger,
who sees life as it is, absurd,
and enjoys a little laughter.
